PEC has completed many subdivisions throughout the years and The Mill located in Lexington is a fine example of the quality work we are capable of.

Transmission Lines for Santee Cooper

 PEC provided surveying services for 350 miles of new and rebuilt transmission lines for Santee Cooper. The most recent example is a 90 mile transmission line running from Berkeley County to Aiken County. This project included horizontal and vertical control using static GPS, determination of property lines for 165 parcels along a 45 mile virgin section of the line, and monumentation of the line with X, Y, Z coordinates provided to the client. All properties crossed were researched in their respective county and tract files established for each. Finally, individual Easement plats were produced for all parcels affected by the project.

USC Parking Deck at Bloosom Street

PEC provided utility, grading and underground drainage plans to complement parking garage design provided by the architect.  Other projects PEC has performed at USC include: National Advocacy Center and associated parking, several houses in the Greek Village, North End Zone Improvements at Williams Brice Stadium, South Campus Housing, and the pedestrian bridges at Strom Thurmond Fitness and Wellness Center.

County Road Improvement Projects and SCDOT Projects

Within the past five years Power Engineering assisted both Lexington County and Aiken County in surveying, engineering, bidding, construction management, quality control of several road improvement projects involving the paving of existing dirt roads under their jurisdiction. Our surveyors mapped the areas and prepared parcel maps for obtaining rights-of-way or easements and also provided construction staking services. Our engineering staff attended design development meetings, analyzed the surveyed information, addressed stormwater management and water quality issues, prepared the necessary construction documents, obtained permits, assisted in the bidding process, made recommendation of award and performed construction observation inspections as needed. Examples– Lexington County: Truex Road, Roscoe Road and Dunn Lane; Aiken County: Fulmer Road, Old Bell Road and Joyce Branch Road.   Power Engineering has also provided surveying services for many projects for the SCDOT such as the Bobby Jones Expressway, Phases I and II in Aiken, the Lone Star to Rimini Highway Improvements in Sumter, Calhoun and Clarendon Counties, Highway 1 iver the Great Pee Dee River Bridge Improvments in Marlboro and Chesterfield Counties and SC 41 over the Wando River Bridge Imrpovements in Berkeley and Charleston Counties.  

SCRA Research Park and Walter B. Brown Industrial Park

PEC provided complete civil engineering and surveying services for several of the tenants in this research park including Blue Cross Blue Shield, IKON, SC Utilities and most recently BDI Pharma.  Some of the services providing were: parking and traffic layout plan, stormwater analysis, grading plan, water and sewer services, boundary and topographic surveys.  PEC also provided services for the Fairfield County Walter B. Brown Industrial Park and for several of the tenants in that park including Land Mekra, Isola and GiViDi.
